The crown wheel with pinion is a differential component responsible for transmitting power from the engine's drive shafts to the road wheels. In addition to transmitting power, the drive shaft + crown wheel assembly increases the torque transmitted by the longitudinal shaft to the transverse shaft while simultaneously changing the direction of rotation.
