Actuators

A hydraulic cylinder is an actuator device in a hydraulic system that converts the energy of a hydraulic fluid into mechanical energy, enabling linear or rotational movement. Hydraulic actuators are widely used in various industries such as construction, agriculture, heavy industry and automotive.

Double-acting cylinders: They have two ports for supplying hydraulic fluid. They enable the piston to move in both directions by supplying hydraulic fluid alternately to one and the other side of the piston.

Action example:

In an excavator, a hydraulic cylinder is used to control the movement of the arm. The operator manipulates the control lever, which causes hydraulic fluid to flow to the appropriate actuator ports. The liquid applies pressure to the piston, causing it to move, which in turn moves the excavator arm in the desired direction.
