Relays

What is a relay?

A relay is an electromechanical or electronic device that acts as an electrically controlled switch. It consists of an electromagnetic coil which, when supplied with electricity, closes or opens an electrical circuit, and a set of switching contacts.

Functions of relays in the tractor:

• Controlling High Current Loads: Relays allow you to control components that require high currents, such as the starter motor, fuel pumps, lights, fans, and more.
• Circuit Isolation: Provide electrical isolation between low-current control circuits and high-current execution circuits.
• Protection of electronic components: Protects delicate control circuits from damage by load currents.
• Automation: They enable devices to be turned on and off automatically based on signals from various sensors and control modules.

What is a circuit breaker?

A circuit breaker is an electrical device that interrupts and closes an electrical circuit in a cyclic or controlled manner. It works on the principle of switching, often using an electromagnetic or electronic element.

Functions of interrupters in tractors:

• Turn signals: Interrupters control the turn signals by turning them on and off at regular intervals to indicate a change in direction.
• Hazard warning lights: Controls the operation of the hazard warning lights, which flash rhythmically to warn other road users of danger.
• Wipers: Interrupters regulate the operation of the wipers, allowing them to operate periodically in intermittent and continuous modes.
• Warning systems: Controls various warning systems, such as audible or light signals, which are used to indicate technical problems or other dangers.
