The proper selection of bolt strength should be made before installation, as bolt shape and technical parameters can directly impact the safety and durability of the connection. There are three grades of bolt precision: A, B, and C, and 10 grades (measured in megapascals) of strength: 3.6, 4.6, 4.8, 5.6, 5.8, 6.8, 8.8, 9.8, 10.9 , and 12.9, where the first digit indicates the tensile strength limit and the second indicates the yield strength relative to the first value (as a percentage). The higher the values, the greater the bolt strength. Thus, 3.6 represents the lowest quality bolt (made of low-carbon steel) and 12.9 represents the highest strength class (made of low-alloy steel).
