The ring wheel (+ input shaft) is an element of the differential mechanism responsible for transferring the drive from the engine drive shafts to the road wheels. In addition to transmitting the drive , the shaft + disc wheel drive assembly increases the torque transmitted by the longitudinal shaft to the transverse shaft while changing the direction of rotation.
