The cylinder head is a component typically mounted at the top of the engine. It houses the combustion chamber and intake valves, responsible for delivering the fuel and air mixture needed for proper engine operation. The cylinder head contains oil and water passages, as well as sensors that monitor oil pressure and coolant temperature.
A damaged cylinder head is often the result of significant changes in engine operating temperature, such as engine overheating. Cylinder head damage can be caused by significant coolant loss, running the engine at high RPMs while it's still cold, or flooding a hot engine with cold coolant. Another common cylinder head problem is a blown cylinder head gasket, which causes a leak in the system and fluid mixing.

Tractor models :
The first signs of a damaged cylinder head include fluid mixing, visible in the coolant reservoir, for example. A white coating around the coolant filler cap, a drop in engine power , and increased fuel consumption are common symptoms of a blown cylinder head gasket.
