A scarifier is a device used to improve water and air management, especially in lawns. It cuts through the thatched turf , which blocks the growth of fresh green matter on our lawn. By blocking airflow through the heavily thatched root system, the turf dries out, creating unsightly yellow patches, ultimately leading to the turf's complete decline.

A scarifier is a device for vertically cutting turf. Shallowly cutting the grass with a scarifier also helps reduce pest populations. It's recommended to use a scarifier on short-cut grass, after removing all obstacles such as stones, branches, and larger weeds.

It is also important to set the plowing depth and the pull point, which allows for maintaining a straight path without the need for constant steering correction. Robust agricultural equipment from brands such as Geograss or TRX has been designed to minimize the resistance offered by the soil, which directly translates into lower fuel consumption. Remember that a plow that is too large will cause excessive wheel slip and may lead to premature clutch wear.
