Product description

Thanks to the possibilities of modern production of agricultural machines , as well as the progress of technology, work on laying lawns or caring for soil for sowing is becoming less burdensome and more automated. For owners of larger cultivated areas or gardening companies, agricultural machines are invaluable because they allow you to save time and achieve better work efficiency.

In order to enjoy a beautiful, thick lawn or large crops of vegetables and fruits, proper soil preparation is very important. These works are primarily intended to make it fluffy, it cannot be too compact, but also not too light, and it is also necessary to ensure that it has the appropriate level of humidity and aeration. An important issue is to provide the appropriate amount of nutrients that ensure proper growth of plants. Nutrients include the content of humus in the soil.

The condition for success is proper preparation for such work. Unfortunately, manual preparation of the substrate takes a lot of time and effort, and can sometimes cause a lot of unforeseen complications. Hence, more and more people decide to buy a tiller .

How does a tiller work? How does a separating tiller differ from a regular tiller?

A tiller is a machine that, when attached to a tractor, mechanically digs, breaks up, and loosens the soil. Thanks to its operation, we can remove old lawn turf, dig up the soil, remove weeds, and level the ground, preparing it for a new lawn or vegetable crop.

Knives mounted on a rotating shaft cut and crumble soil fragments. The knives in the SBZ Separating Tiller rotate in the opposite direction to the tractor's travel. A crucial element of the tiller's design are the stone-separating rods. The rotation of the knives sifts the soil through the aforementioned system of rods, which act like a sieve, separating larger particles from smaller ones. All the coarser particles, such as stones, sticks, roots, and larger clods of earth, land on the first lower layer of soil and are covered by the crumbled, properly prepared subsoil.

The rear roller of the separating tiller allows us to regulate the working depth of the machine, simultaneously producing a leveled and compacted soil ready for further cultivation. This is a major advantage of the separating tiller and how it differs from a standard tiller.

The main use of the separation roller is to help with establishing lawns, it is also an ideal tool for leveling previously disturbed soil.

What else makes the SBZ separating tiller with seeder stand out?

This machine has the ability to move slightly laterally , allowing for additional precision in positioning the machine behind the tractor. Tillers use a chain drive, which requires a PTO shaft with a safety device, such as a breakaway wedge or clutch, to protect the tractor's gears and the machine's transmission.

The SBZ 165 4FARMER separating tiller is simple in design and solidly constructed. The hinged hatch feature makes it easier to keep the machine clean and provides better access to the main shaft and the knife axle.

Above the hinged flap, two shock-absorbing elements are located on both sides of the machine. If a large stone or clod of earth gets under the tines, these elements protect the upper surface of the tiller from impact with the rising moving part of the machine.

Separating tiller with seeder – an irreplaceable tillage unit!

The SBZ model is a tillage unit that allows for comprehensive earthworks. The seeder is equipped with a lockable flap with seeder flap catches. These prevent uncontrolled flap opening and potential spillage of the spread product.

The seeder features a spreading adjustment mechanism. Opening or closing the holes located at the bottom of the seeder allows for the adjustment of sowing rate. The rotating seeder shaft located inside the seeder evenly distributes the sown product, preventing clumping or clogging of the seeder holes.

If you are looking for a unit that combines all the elements necessary for soil preparation and sowing, a separating tiller is definitely the product for you!

Questions & Answers

How to choose a plow for the power of my mini tractor?

User

Correct selection of a plow for the power and weight of the tractor is key to effective plowing and protection of the drive system against overload. It is assumed that for each plow body (furrow) with a width of approx. 20-25 cm, a mini tractor should have a power of 8 to 12 HP, depending on the soil compactness. For machines with 15-20 HP, the optimal solution is usually a single-furrow plow, while units over 22-25 HP with 4x4 drive can handle a light two-furrow plow. It is also important to set the plowing depth and the pull point, which allows for maintaining a straight path without the need for constant steering correction. Robust agricultural equipment from brands such as Geograss or TRX has been designed to minimize the resistance offered by the soil, which directly translates into lower fuel consumption. Remember that a plow that is too large will cause excessive wheel slip and may lead to premature clutch wear. Before purchasing, always check the three-point linkage (TUZ) lifting capacity of your tractor to ensure the machine safely lifts the tool in the transport position.

What are the types of rototillers and which one will be best for my garden?

The choice of the right rototiller depends primarily on the type of planned work and the condition of the soil in your garden. A standard mounted rototiller installed on a three-point linkage (TUZ) is ideal for seasonal soil loosening and mixing with fertilizers. If you are establishing a new lawn on difficult, weed-infested terrain, the best choice will be a stone burier (separation rototiller), which, thanks to the reverse rotation of the blades, buries stones and plant residues deep under a layer of clean, sifted soil. For professional orchardists, a side rototiller (inter-row) is dedicated, allowing for precise cultivation right next to tree trunks. Regardless of the model, the heart of the machine is a durable angle gearbox and hardened cutting blades, which must be regularly checked for sharpness and tightness. The correct PTO speed (standard 540 rpm) ensures an optimal granular structure of the soil, which promotes better aeration and water retention. By investing in high-quality cultivation machinery, you can be sure that the preparation of the ground for crops will be fast, thorough, and will not excessively strain your compact tractor.

When is it worth using a flail mower instead of a rotary one?

User
Ekspert Traktor.com.pl – Doradca techniczny • 17.02.2026
The key advantage of a flail mower (so-called mulcher) is its ability to work in extremely difficult conditions where a regular mower could fail. If you need to clear wasteland, tall grass, thickets, and even small branches in an orchard, a rear-mounted flail mower will be unrivaled. Equipped with heavy hammer-type flails, this machine not only cuts vegetation but also shreds it very thoroughly, leaving natural fertilizer on the surface in the form of mulch. This is a much safer solution in stony areas because the housing design holds debris inside the device. On the other hand, a standard rotary mower is better for well-kept lawns where an aesthetic appearance is desired. When choosing a tractor mower, pay attention to the working width – it should be slightly wider than the machine's wheelbase to avoid trampling uncut grass. Models from brands like Stark or Geograss also offer hydraulic shift, which facilitates maneuvering under tree canopies and near fences, making the Japanese mini tractor an even more versatile tool.
