Garden maintenance, preparing a plot for sale, clearing trees, and municipal cleanup work are all excellent practices, the results of which everyone loves. The question is what to do with cut branches – often larger ones, when we have more than enough of them? Is it possible to dispose of them without a tractor, a large trailer, or disposal facilities? Of course! Wood chippers equipped with a combustion engine come to the rescue. They have a trailer hitch, so they can be easily transported on the road (provided they have a chipper approval) in any vehicle with a towbar. This type of machine will allow us to remove overgrown branches from the plot and will be an indispensable companion for gardening and municipal companies. Wood chipping machines are widely used in forestry and agriculture. Their use allows for the quick, precise, and safe processing of even large quantities of tree trunks and branches.
In disc chippers , the wood is shredded by a metal disc/disc with mounted blades (knives). This solution was patented in 1922 by German inventor Heinrich Wigger. The rotating disc/disc is positioned perpendicular to the wood fed into the machine (manually or via a conveyor belt). The rotating disc with knives breaks it into chips (shavings), which are then ejected out of the machine through a discharge chute. By choosing a disc chipper , we obtain fine material of uniform shape and size, which can then be used for mulching, fuel, or particleboard production.
The machine is integrated with a trailer on road wheels and a ball hitch. It is equipped with a 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled combustion engine with an output of 50 HP. The chipper is electrically operated, and the hydraulic feeder makes operation significantly easier. It also features a safety STOP function in both forward and reverse.
The DWC-50 disc chipper features a 74 cm diameter cutting disc with four cutting knives and two branch intake rollers, one of which has a smooth surface to prevent smaller branches from being "left" beyond the feed tube. The DWC petrol-powered disc chipper is designed for shredding branches and tree trunks up to 20 cm in diameter, producing fine chips of approximately 0.5-1 cm. The final chip size and efficiency also depend on the type of material being shredded and its moisture content.
