Flail mower with sliding EFD 180 4FARMER
The choice of agricultural machines that help maintain green areas is becoming more and more numerous. Currently, we can choose how we want to mow meadows, wastelands, green areas, and what we want to do with the mown grass.
Flail mowers have become a very interesting proposition for many of our customers. Some people call them mowers for "special tasks" because they can also easily mow tall grass or heavily overgrown areas. As the name suggests, flail mowers are mowers in which the mowing function is performed by flails placed on the cutting shaft. The cutting shaft rotates at the appropriate speed, cutting anything above the set height around its axis.
The EFD 180 4FARMER sliding flail mower, commonly known as a " mulcher ", is a flail mower with an open outlet, which is suitable for mowing wasteland, meadows and pastures, weedy areas or corn harvest residues. This is definitely a product that will also fulfill its purpose in municipal companies when taking care of green areas.
The advantage is the ability to open the rear flap when mowing very overgrown areas. The mowed material will be less fragmented, but at the same time the tractor will not be subject to as much load as when working with a closed flap. This mower has the option of side shifting, so we can further specify the positioning of the machine behind the tractor.
In what areas will this mower be used 100%?
- brake,
- barren,
- roadsides,
- orchards and plant nurseries,
- green areas, weedy areas,
- meadows, pastures,
- removal of crop residues,
If you have a flail mower, it is very important to regularly check the sharpness of the cutting mechanism. This guarantees that mowing will be efficient and effective.
A flail mower not only mows but also mulches the mown material. What is it about?
It is a technique of mowing grass/other organic materials and grinding the cut material so that it becomes a natural fertilizer that fertilizes the soil. The advantage of mulching is also preventing soil erosion, slowing down the growth of weeds and, most importantly, getting rid of unwanted mowings, e.g. grass, which is often an additional problem.
We can mulch grass and crop residues, thanks to which we reduce the amount of crop residues, provide the soil with natural fertilizer and protect against pests living, for example, in the stems of the above-ground parts of plants.
The EFD 180 4FARMER flail mower (mulcher) with mechanical shifting has a cutting width of 180 cm, which is the smallest size among the three available widths. In addition to the working shaft equipped with flails that shred the material, the mower also has a rear (copying) shaft. It allows you to adjust the cutting height and keep the mower at the selected height. The drive from the tractor's PTO shaft is 540 rpm.
When choosing a flail mower, it is very important to select the right mower for the power and weight of our tractor. The EFD 180 flail mower (mulcher) requires a minimum of 65 HP with a large tractor weight.
