The water pump, the coolant of the radiator is one of the most important elements of the engine cooling system and this method of cooling is commonly called water cooling . The engine block and the engine head are elements that heat up to very high temperatures during operation and we want to cool them with the coolant during operation . In the engine and the head, special water channels are bored for the circulation of water, which is then forced back into the engine water channels. The circulation of the coolant is possible thanks to the water pump , which is most often placed between the radiator and the engine and is driven by a V-belt from the alternator. We screw the pulley to the pump flywheel in this order, followed by the radiator fan, which rotates together with the pulley, providing the air movement needed to cool the radiator while the engine is running.
Dimensions:
The most common problems and faults of the water pump are the bearing seizure, which is subjected to high rotational speeds and because the elements that directly cooperate with the pump, such as the pulley and the fan, which are not always properly balanced. Too tight a belt, worn belt, too loose V-belt, V-belt installed at the wrong angle, poor lubrication or lack of lubrication are other causes that cause water pump damage. The first signs of water pump damage or signs of improper operation are an unusual sound from under the hood, a coolant stain under the tractor or temperature jumps visible on the dashboard gauges.
