Agricultural machinery manufacturers are constantly expanding their product range to meet the needs of as many users as possible. Until recently, excavations on small farms involved manual digging of tubers . Today, we have devices available that simply attach to the tractor and successfully dig up the tubers, significantly speeding up the process. A potato digger is an agricultural machine necessary for mechanical digging of tubers from ridges.
Vibrating potato digger, single-row STANDARD 4FARMER
The machine consists of a vibrating blade that transfers the potatoes and soil to a vibrating basket that sifts the potatoes from the ground. This mechanism consists of solid metal rods that begin to vibrate when the bulbs hit them. Thanks to vibrations, soil and impurities are separated from the potatoes. Small stones and rubbish pass through the grate, and the potatoes remain on top. The device can reach a working speed of up to 8 km/h.
The intensity of shaking can be adjusted, depending on the type of soil we are working with. When harvesting potatoes in sandy soils, you can position the screener almost horizontally, which will help clean the tubers and reduce the load on the equipment.
All vibrating elements are moved by a connecting rod mechanism driven by the tractor's PTO shaft.
Its reduced dimensions enable the machine to be used on small plots, flat and hilly areas.
