Product description
The choice of agricultural machinery that helps in the maintenance of green areas is growing. Currently, we can choose how we want to mow meadows, wastelands, green areas, and what we want to do with the mowed grass.
Which mower for tall grass?
The best choice of a mower is one that will take into account what we want to mow, what areas our machine will come into contact with.
For mowing tall grass, meadows, low-stem greens, e.g. alfalfa harvested for direct feeding or further processing, large areas, drum mowers , or rotary mowers, are best suited.
The drum mower can work on uneven terrain with a slope of up to 12°. The area itself must be free of stones, branches, self-sown plants or molehills. This is the basic difference between a flail mower and a rotary mower.
The rotary mower , thanks to its construction and working system, allows for work in difficult conditions, but also enables a greater working range and precise adjustment to the terrain. A drum mower for a tractor , as the name suggests, is made of two drums that rotate around their own axis, and its cutting part is made of sharp knives in the drum. The number of knives depends on the size of the mower.
Grasses are cut when you quickly hit them with a knife. The diameter of the working disc is equivalent to the mowing width, of course we count it twice because the mower is equipped with two discs.
The mower's mowing height is set by the manufacturer at 32mm, while it is adjustable to 40mm and 44mm. The mowing height is adjusted by means of a spacer ring, which is placed on the working drum between the hub and the working plate.
The condition for the correct operation of the machine is the appropriate selection of its size to the power and weight of the tractor.
