The clutch pressure plate is the element connecting the gearbox to the engine and is therefore responsible for transferring torque from the engine, through the gearbox to the tractor's running gear. To simplify this entire complicated process, the clutch pressure plate is responsible for moving the tractor, starting and stopping, and changing the driving speed ratios. The clutch pressure plate consists of a housing, compression springs, and a disc, and its main task is to exert the appropriate friction force on the clutch disc, a force sufficient to prevent these two elements (pressure plate and disc) from rotating at different speeds.

The first signs of a worn clutch are an unusual sound when pressing or releasing the clutch pedal, an unpleasant smell or grinding of the gearbox. When replacing the clutch, it is recommended to replace all the elements (disc, pressure plate, bearing) because these elements often wear out at the same time.
