Tractor chipper - how does it work?

These are devices that, as the name suggests, are designed to be used in conjunction with agricultural tractors . A tractor chipper works by connecting to the PTO shaft, which is why individual chippers require connection to a tractor with the appropriate engine power. Wood shredding machines are commonly used in forestry and agriculture. Their use allows for quick, precise and safe processing of even a significant number of trunks and branches.

Disc Chipper - Worth Knowing

In disc chippers, the element that shreds wood is a metal disc/disc with mounted blades (knives). This solution was patented in 1922 by German inventor Heinrich Wigger. The rotating disc/disc is set perpendicularly to the wood fed into the machine (manually or by means of a conveyor belt). The rotating disc with knives shreds it into chips (shavings), which are then thrown out of the device through the discharge chute. By choosing a disc chipper , we obtain fine material of uniform shape and size, which can then be used for mulching, for fuel, for the production of chipboard.

WC-X5 disc chipper is designed for cutting branches up to 9 cm in diameter (fresh soft wood).

The cutting mechanism has been precisely made to ensure the appropriate quality, accuracy and concentricity. This translates into a long service life of the components and the entire device.

The chipper is equipped with guards and an emergency switch located on the feed hopper. The outlet chimney is adjustable horizontally and vertically to regulate the direction of the chips outlet. The solid construction ensures high efficiency and comfort during work. The chipper drive is transmitted via the tractor's PTO shaft. The chipper requires 1 hydraulic section installed in the tractor.

Wood chips are wood particles, ranging in size from a few to a dozen or so centimetres, created by shredding wood with a chipper or shredder. The resulting material is an ideal natural fertiliser for your garden. You can sprinkle wood chips on your flower beds or flower beds instead of coniferous bark, which is only suitable for plants that like acidic soil. This is an ideal material that improves soil moisture, limits weed growth, protects against excessive soil heating and sudden rains that only flow down dry soil. Wood chips are an ideal breeding ground for microorganisms, and will decompose over time, providing our soil with valuable humus.
