Clutch release bearing / NACHI 40TNK20 / 40 x 70 x 17.90 mm
Clutch release bearing , dimensions 40 x 70 x 17.9 mm , symbol 40TNK20 for Japanese tractors and mini tractors from Mitsubishi GS series and others.
The clutch bearing is a bearing, otherwise known as a release bearing or thrust bearing , and is the only moving part of the clutch system in the tractor engine and moves along the axis of the drive shaft with a sliding motion. When pressing the clutch pedal, the thrust bearing presses against the clutch pressure springs, causing the pressure plate to be lifted, i.e. the pressure plate will move away from the friction surface of the clutch plate and thus we can disconnect our drive, power transmission from the engine (crankshaft), to the drive system (shaft gearbox drive) i.e. change gear or stop the tractor.
Dimensions :
- inner diameter: 40 mm.
- outer diameter: 70 mm.
- thickness: 17.90 mm.
The first symptoms of bearing wear and the need to replace the bearing are an unnatural noise, e.g. hum or noise coming from the clutch area, which usually disappears when the clutch pedal is depressed. In the event of severe damage or wear of the clutch bearing, it may not be possible to shift into gear. It is recommended to replace the bearing each time one of the elements of the pressure clutch or disc is replaced, because the replacement of each of these elements results in the tractor being halved (separation of the gearbox from the engine) and it is quite an expensive and time-consuming process.
