Piston / Ø 85 mm / Shibaura LEM853 / Shibaura SD2640D / 5-23-201-63
Engine piston (rings 6-26-100-58) with an outer diameter of 85 mm and a total height of 91 mm for Shibaura tractors of the Shibaura SD2640D series with Shibaura LEM853 and other engines.
The engine piston is a moving element responsible for converting gas and energy produced during combustion into the crankshaft, i.e. into engine power. The piston is connected to the crankshaft by an element called a connecting rod with pin connections. At the top of the piston there are ring channels for mounting the piston rings, and in the middle there is a hub for connection with the connecting rod. At the top there is the so-called bottom, which may have a different shape depending on the type of engine. Due to operation in very difficult conditions, engine pistons are most often made of aluminum and silicon alloys.

The company was established in 1942 and began producing engines and tractors in 1951. In 1973, Shibaura entered into an agreement with Ford to build a small tractor (Ford 1000) to Ford specifications and styling. Shibaura then produced other Ford tractor models, such as the Ford 1600 and 2110, and continued building small tractors even after Ford acquired New Holland.
The company also produced Yanmar tractors and STIHL power tools. Currently, this brand belongs to IHI, a leading manufacturer of jet engines, power generators and industrial machines. The company started production with engines and garden tractors. After ending the cooperation with Ford, the company began to produce tractors and mini tractors under its own trade name.
Currently, Shibaura has factories in Great Britain, the United States and China. The first compact tractors were created in 1961. To date, Shibaura has produced approximately 70 tractor models.
