What is a 3-point linkage Cat I?

The TUZ is a connection between a tractor and an agricultural machine and is a special arrangement of elements, thanks to which it is possible to lift, transport and set the appropriate position in relation to the ground and the tractor, agricultural machines and devices. Hydraulically controlled three-point suspension system (abbreviated TUZ) as the name suggests, is a connection of an agricultural machine with a tractor at three points, i.e. on two hydraulically lifted beams connected to blades with a so-called tie rod (right left side) and a centrally located connector, a so-called turnbuckle. What is the TUZ of a tractor used for?:

  • for lifting and transporting agricultural machines and equipment,
  • to determine the appropriate working depth or height of an agricultural machine or device,
  • for transporting machines and equipment,
  • to stabilize machines and equipment during transport.

How does a tractor’s three-point linkage work?

The hydraulically operated rear linkage consists of a cylinder, pump, safety valve and hydraulic distributor. The operation of the linkage system is directly responsible for the hydraulic oil flowing through the system under pressure, controlled and operated by the cylinder and hydraulic distributor. The hydraulic cylinder (single or double-acting) is responsible for lifting the system (and lowering the double-acting cylinder), the hydraulic pump for generating the appropriate pressure in the system, the safety valve is a fuse that reduces the pressure in the system after exceeding the maximum possible lifting capacity, and the hydraulic distributor is a device controlling the flow of oil in the system. The operation of the linkage lift is directly responsible for the hydraulic oil flowing through the system under pressure, controlled and operated by the cylinder and hydraulic distributor.

The TUZ Cat I suspension set is dedicated to Kubota tractors and mini tractors and consists of :

  • lower arms x 2 (lases),
  • upper connector (turnbuckle),
  • hangers (connecting the lower arms of the lift with the upper ones, the so-called lifting arms) x 2,
  • chains pulling lower arms x 2,
  • lower arm mounting bracket.

The lower arms of the TUZ most often have a ball end, but in modern systems manufacturers use more universal hook ends. The three-point suspension system of the TUZ can be used both at the rear and at the front of the tractor. The TUZ suspensions differ in the length of the lower arms, the diameter of the ball holes and the length of the hangers and before buying, you should carefully measure the distance from the lower arm mounting pins to the appropriate distance behind the tractor tire.

  • working length of tension chains: minimum 260 mm from centre to centre of holes with the screw tightened to the maximum, 95 mm middle element,
  • diameter of the hole for the lower bracket of the tension chains (sleeve): 23 mm,
  • thread of tension chain screws: M12 / M16,
  • turnbuckle length: 320 mm (middle element), minimum 415 mm from center to center of pin holes with the turnbuckle fully tightened,
  • diameter of the turnbuckle ball holes: 19 mm,
  • turnbuckle thread: M22,
  • total length of the lower bracket: 485 mm,
  • working length of the lower bracket: 430 mm,
  • bottom bracket diameter: 22 mm,
  • maximum arm spacing (lower bracket): 320 mm,
  • weight: 18 kg.

The TUZ Category Cat I means that the diameter of the holes for the pins and pins is in the range of 19 to 22 mm. The dedicated hitch beam for the slings is a 400 mm hitch beam .
