The most common problems and faults of the water pump are the bearing seizure , which is subjected to high rotational speeds and because the elements that directly cooperate with the pump, such as the pulley and the fan, which are not always properly balanced. Too tight a belt , worn belt , too loose V-belt, V-belt installed at the wrong angle , poor lubrication or lack of lubrication are other causes that cause damage to the water pump. The first signs of water pump damage or signs of improper operation are an unusual sound from under the hood, a coolant stain under the tractor or temperature jumps visible on the dashboard gauges.
