Yes, in many cases it is possible to test the tractor before purchasing, especially if it is a dealer or shop that offers such services. Before arranging a test, it is worth contacting the dealer and asking about the availability of this option, especially when it comes to used machines. You can also ask about the test conditions - whether it will be only a test drive or the opportunity to test the tractor in specific working conditions.
It is also worth checking the terms of the warranty and any contracts to make sure that no problems will arise after the purchase.
Operating costs of a tractor depend on many factors – the model and power of the machine, intensity of use, type of work performed, and terrain conditions. The largest expenses are usually fuel (on average 5–12 litres of diesel per engine hour), regular inspections and oil/filter changes, as well as wearing parts such as tyres, clutch, or the hydraulic system.
On top of that, you need to factor in liability insurance, registration fees, any repairs, and the cost of tools and attachments (mowers, front loaders, ploughs, etc.). For small garden tractors, total operating costs rarely exceed a few hundred PLN per month, while for larger agricultural tractors used intensively, expect costs in the range of several thousand PLN per year.
Before buying, ask the dealer about expected service intervals, the cost of consumable parts, and the availability of original attachments – this will help you realistically estimate maintenance costs over several years.
