The cylinder head gasket is a gasket that is installed where the cylinder head meets the engine block. The connection between the block and the head must be tight for proper engine operation. The head gasket is designed to seal the operation of the cylinders, coolant channels and lubrication channels, and to separate and not mix these two fluids. The second task of the gasket is thermal insulation, because part of the engine block can heat up from the working combustion chambers, even up to 2000 degrees Celsius.
