A tractor-mounted, mechanical planter is an agricultural device designed for planting bulbous plants, onion plants and many others. The planter is mounted on the three-point linkage of the tractor Cat I and Cat II, and the mechanism responsible for planting potatoes is driven by the planter wheels while the tractor is moving.

This unit is ideal for tractors with a standard 3-point linkage, does not require connection to the power take-off shaft. The potato planter is very efficient - in one pass through the field it performs the entire planting process: preparing the furrow, placing the tuber, creating a ridge. There is no need for any physical work, the operator only needs to fill the seed potatoes.

The planter consists of a tank mounted on a frame with a capacity of 180L, to which the coulters and ploughs are screwed to gather the soil. When the tractor is moving, the planter wheels set in motion a gear wheel, on which a chain with grippers located inside the tank is attached. The potatoes, lifted vertically on round grippers, then fall into the groove previously made with the coulter, then the ploughs gather the soil through special scrapers.

We can also adjust the planting distance by changing the diameter of the metal wheels of the planter.
