The engine oil pump is responsible for supplying and pumping oil to the engine at the correct pressure and in the correct amount needed for proper operation. The engine oil pump is most often driven by the engine crankshaft or a V-belt. The oil pump draws oil from the oil pan and distributes it throughout all of the engine's channels in the form of a microfilm.
