Engine oil filter / LS XP8084 / LS XP8094 / LS XP8101 / LS Tractor / 40348967 / 40387781

Engine oil filter for LS Tractor tractors, LS XP8084, LS XP8094, LS XP8101 series and others.

The engine oil filter is a very important element of the lubrication system, and its main task is to clean the oil circulating in the engine system of organic and mineral contaminants. A metal spin-on oil filter is a filter whose main task is to remove the smallest contaminants from the oil, down to as little as 1/50 mm in size. The filter design is very simple: it consists of a metal canister with a thread and a paper element inside, folded in a so-called accordion pattern to increase the filtering surface. Oil contamination, in the case of organic contaminants, most often results from the breakdown of the oil itself during operation, from fuel residues, or from oxidation by-products. Mineral contaminants are air pollutants and metal particles that appear in the engine during operation.

The filter is most often mounted on the side of the engine, and a clean, unused oil filter has a direct impact on engine operation and service life and on fuel consumption; in extreme cases a clogged oil filter can lead to engine overheating and damage to the cylinder head gasket. The oil filter is always replaced together with the oil change, at the interval specified in the machine's operating manual.
