Clutch release bearing measuring 55 x 87.6 x 21.5 mm for LS Tractor series LS MT3.50, LS MT3.60 and others.
The clutch bearing is a bearing also known as a release bearing or a thrust bearing and is the only moving element of the clutch system in the tractor engine and moves along the axis of the drive shaft in a sliding motion. When the clutch pedal is pressed, the thrust bearing presses against the clutch pressure springs, causing the pressure plate to lift, i.e. the pressure plate moves away from the friction surface of the clutch plate and in this way we can disconnect our drive, transfer power from the engine (crankshaft) to the chassis (gearbox drive shaft), i.e. change gear or stop the tractor.

The first symptoms of bearing wear and the need for replacement are an unnatural sound, e.g. a hum or noise coming from the clutch area, which usually disappears after pressing the clutch pedal. In the case of serious damage or wear of the clutch bearing, there may be problems with engaging the gear. It is recommended to replace the bearing each time one of the clutch elements, the pressure plate or the disc, is replaced, because replacing each of these elements involves splitting the tractor (separating the gearbox from the engine) and is a fairly expensive and time-consuming process.
