The cylinder head gasket is a gasket that is installed at the point where the engine head connects to the engine block. The point where the block connects to the head must be tight for the engine to function properly. The cylinder head gasket is designed to seal the operation of the cylinders, coolant channels and lubrication channels, and to separate and prevent the two fluids from mixing. The second task of the gasket is thermal insulation, because part of the engine block can heat up from the working combustion chambers, even up to 2000 degrees Celsius.
