A fuel injector is a mechanism whose task is to deliver fuel very precisely, at the correct pressure, to the cylinder head close to the intake valves (glow plugs) or to the intake manifold. An injector is, in other words, a very precise and fast-acting valve that opens for a set time and generates the appropriate fluid pressure. Fuel mixed with air in the intake system or in the cylinder, delivered by fuel injection, burns properly, which directly affects optimal or higher engine performance. Correctly working fuel injectors have a direct effect on engine operation, fuel consumption and reduced exhaust emissions.
