Connecting rod bearings (connecting rod 5-01-130-23) with a standard size of + 0.40 mm (so-called fourth-grind bearing shells 040 ), a width of 18.80 mm , a thickness of 2.50 mm and a diameter of about 55.60 mm . The bearing shells fit Kubota L1 series tractors.
Connecting rod bearings are elements whose main task is to reduce friction at the point of connection of the connecting rod to the crankshaft. Bearings are two separable, semicircular elements that, when installed, create a circle. Bearings (though not all types) also have a small groove or cut through which the lubricant is distributed. The most common reasons for rapid wear of connecting rod bearings are:

The first signs of wear of the main bearings are an unnatural, steady knocking coming from the engine. Worn bearings must be replaced with new ones as soon as possible, replacing the faulty element too late can cause serious damage to the shaft, connecting rod or engine.
