The steering column worm gear is a component of the steering system, sometimes called the rack and pinion, responsible for the tractor's steering. One end of the shaft is directly bolted to the steering wheel, while its worm section on the other moves the steering rods connected to the front axle's steering rods, which rotate the steering wheel. The worm gear is a component of the steering column responsible for steering the tractor. It consists of a shaft with a worm. The worm gear is responsible for transmitting the steering wheel movement to the rod ends and then to the steering wheels. This connection should be as smooth and free of play as possible. At the end of the shaft is mounted the so-called steering column worm , with a thread resembling a screw thread, directly integrated into which is a gear or other surface connected to the rod ends.
