A support sleeve , or sliding sleeve, is a sleeve designed for harsh operating conditions. Due to the manufacturing process and the use of appropriate raw materials, it has very high abrasion resistance and is capable of carrying heavy loads. A sliding bearing, as this component is sometimes called, often has an internal groove or hole to facilitate lubricant access to the contact surfaces.
