The engine piston is a moving element responsible for converting gas and energy generated during combustion to the crankshaft, and then to engine power. The piston is connected to the crankshaft by an element called a connecting rod with pin connections. At the top of the piston there are annular channels for mounting the piston rings, in the middle there is a hub for connecting to the connecting rod. At the top there is a so-called bottom, which, depending on the type of engine, can have a different shape. Due to the work in very difficult conditions, engine pistons are most often made of aluminum and silicon alloys.
