The engine gasket is a thin element whose main task is to seal seemingly perfectly flat surfaces. The gasket is most often made of a material resistant to work in grease and oils and withstands high temperatures. Connections of individual engine, gearbox, front or rear axle elements require the use of a gasket because even the smallest leak can cause seizure of the transmission, bearings or destruction of the gears.
