Engine valves are components located in the cylinder head (overhead valve engine) or engine block (lower valve engine). Their main function is to properly control the flow of air, the fuel-air mixture, and exhaust gases. There are two types of valves: intake valves, responsible for opening the chamber to draw in the appropriate amount of fuel mixture, and exhaust valves, responsible for removing gases generated during engine operation.
The valves consist of a rod with a disc at the end and are fully cast. Engine valves are made of special steel resistant to the extremely high temperatures generated during fuel combustion, known as heat-resistant steel.

Engine valves are components that wear out when working in difficult conditions and under the influence of high temperatures. The most common valve damage is valve stem abrasion and carbon deposits. Valve deposits are the result of using low-quality oil, and valve head wear causes leaks in the system and loss of engine power.
