The clutch pressure plate is the component that connects the gearbox to the engine, and is therefore responsible for transferring torque from the engine, through the gearbox, to the tractor's drivetrain. The clutch pressure plate consists of a housing, compression springs, and a clutch disc. Its main function is to exert sufficient frictional force on the clutch disc to prevent the two components (pressure plate and disc) from rotating at different speeds.
