4FARMER BX52R disc chipper with hydraulic feeding
The 4FARMER BX52R is a powerful disc chipper designed for use with tractors equipped with a three-point linkage. The machine is designed to shred branches and tree trunks up to 12 cm in diameter, and in the case of material with offshoots, it can process elements up to 25 cm in diameter.
The chipper is powered by the tractor's power take-off (PTO). The BX52R model has its own hydraulic system with a pump and oil tank that powers two feed rollers. This allows material to be automatically and smoothly fed into the cutting chamber, eliminating the need to manually move the branches.
The most important advantages of the 4FARMER BX52R chipper
Massive cutting disc
One of the most important design elements of the BX52R is the large cutting disc with a diameter of 63 cm, a thickness of 2 cm and a weight of 65 kg.
In disc chippers, the energy stored during the rotation of the heavy disc aids in the cutting process. This allows for efficient shredding of branches while reducing the peak load on the drive system compared to designs that primarily cut the material by direct action of the working element.
The blade is equipped with four double-sided knives made of hardened CR12 tool steel and a counterblade mounted in the machine base. The double-sided design of the knives allows for reuse after reversing the working edge.
Additional breakers placed on the disc support further crushing of the material, allowing to obtain chips of approximately 20–50 mm in size.
Hydraulic material feeding
The BX52R is equipped with an independent hydraulic system, including its own hydraulic pump and oil tank. Two feed rollers, driven by hydraulic motors, automatically pick up material and direct it towards the cutting disc.
The operator can adjust the chipper's speed to the type and thickness of material thanks to a 10-step feed speed adjustment. The system also allows for branch retraction in the event of a jam, and the emergency stop allows for a quick stop of the feed mechanism.
Adjustable cutting system
The adjustable counterblade allows for the proper adjustment of the gap between the knife and the counterblade. This allows the cutting unit to be adjusted to current operating conditions and the type of material being shredded.
The cutting system is also operated with a disc locking latch, which facilitates the immobilization of the working element during servicing, in particular when replacing or rotating the knives.
Convenient ejection of wood chips
The shredded material is discharged through a 360° rotating discharge chute. The ability to change the discharge direction makes it easy to direct the chips directly onto a trailer, transport platform, or any desired location. The discharge chute is 190 cm high.
Design adapted for transport
The chipper's throat is designed to fold into the transport position. This reduces the machine's overall dimensions during transport and makes it easier to prepare for storage. The chipper is mounted to the tractor using a three-point linkage (TUZ).
Lubrication and maintenance
The machine's bearings and moving parts are equipped with lubrication nipples, which facilitate regular maintenance. Regular lubrication of working parts helps maintain proper mechanism operation and reduce wear.
