Connecting rod bearings / Yanmar EF352T / EF453T / Yanmar 3TNV88

Connecting rod bearings (connecting rod 6-01-140-03, 12900-23001) of standard size + 0.50 (so-called third-cut bearings) for Yanmar tractors of the Yanmar EF352T, Yanmar EF453T series and others.

Connecting rod plain bearings are components whose primary function is to reduce friction at the connecting rod-crankshaft interface. The bearings are two separable, semicircular elements that, when assembled, form a circle. The bearings also have a small groove or notch through which lubricant is distributed. The most common causes of rapid wear of connecting rod bearings are:

• using oil with incorrect viscosity parameters,
• incorrect installation of bearings,
• failure to comply with oil change deadlines,
• low engine oil level,
• overloading the engine, which has not reached the correct temperature.

The first signs of wear of connecting rod bearings are an unnatural, steady knocking coming from the engine. Worn bearings must be replaced with new ones as soon as possible, replacing the faulty element too late can cause serious damage to the shaft, connecting rod or engine.
