What is a spacer sleeve?

A spacer sleeve (sleeve) is an element whose main task is to maintain a specific, set distance between individual parts, elements or groups of parts in a mechanical structure. In addition to maintaining a given part in a specific position, the spacer sleeve is responsible for heat transfer (absorption) in engines and mechanical devices as well as resistance to high temperatures and chemicals. There are several types of spacer sleeves on the market, but most often they are a metal cylindrical element (sometimes hexagonal) made of resistant metal, copper or other metal alloy, with a milling cutter (breakaway sleeves) or with grooves and holes that allow better access of the lubricant to the contact surfaces of elements.
