What is a PTO/PTO shaft?

PTO/PTO output shaft (power take off), an element for mechanical transmission of engine power and torque. The tractor's power take-off shaft comes out of the tractor's transmission and hydraulic box and is used to drive additional equipment that does not have its own drive. An intermediate shaft, also commonly called the PTO shaft, is used to connect additional equipment with the output shaft. The power take-off is most often a splined shaft that can also be mounted at the front of the tractor.
