The engine piston is a moving element responsible for the exchange of gas and energy produced during combustion to the crankshaft, and further to the engine power. The piston is connected to the crankshaft by an element called a connecting rod with pin connections. At the top of the piston there are annular channels for mounting the piston rings, in the middle there is a hub for connecting to the connecting rod. At the top there is the so-called bottom, which, depending on the type of engine, may have a different shape. Due to the work in very difficult conditions, engine pistons are most often made of aluminum and silicon alloys.
