Yanmar 3TNB82 engine head.
The cylinder head is a component usually mounted on top of the engine, which contains the combustion chamber and intake valves responsible for supplying the fuel and air mixture needed for the engine to operate properly. The engine head contains oil and water channels, as well as sensors that monitor oil pressure and coolant temperature.
A damaged engine head is often the result of very large changes in engine operating temperature, e.g. engine overheating. Head damage can be caused by a very large loss of coolant, running a cold engine at high speeds or flooding a warm engine with cold coolant. Another common problem with the engine head is a blown head gasket, which causes the system to leak and the operating fluids to mix.

The first signs of saving the engine head are the mixing of operating fluids visible, for example, in the coolant reservoir. A white coating around the coolant filler cap, a drop in engine power , and increased fuel consumption are common symptoms of a burnt head gasket.
