Power harrow LXG130 active, mechanical TRX harrow

The so-called rotary harrow active is a device that is used to prepare the soil and used in every branch of agriculture, both in orchards, gardening and care of green areas. The main function of the rotary harrow is the same as that of the ordinary harrow, i.e. loosening, the so-called "moving" of the earth and "breaking" fragmentation of the earth, e.g. after plowing, before sowing or after fertilization. The difference between a power harrow and a normal harrow is fundamental. The rotary harrow is primarily a mechanical device driven by the power take-off shaft (PTO) of the tractor, which, by driving the angular gear with a clutch, sets in motion discs with claws, which loosen the soil. The advantage of this solution is that the power harrow can be used when working on slightly harder, denser soil, where an ordinary harrow, even loaded with ballast, does not give adequate results and that the harrow can be used simultaneously with other machines such as seeders, cultivators or string rollers.

Construction and working elements

The working elements of the active harrow are discs on which two cutting knives, approximately 20 cm long, are placed vertically. The operation of the gear sets the discs with knives in motion, this is done through gears located on each disc inside the aggregate, which gears are flooded with gear-hydraulic oil. The arrangement of the knives (2 knives per segment) allows for crushing large clods , heavily compacted or lumpy soil without overloading the tractor. The recommended PTO/PTO speed is 540 rpm and the maximum operating speed must be selected depending on the ground conditions on which the harrow is working at the moment. The harrow is attached to a tractor with a 3-point linkage system of the first category CAT I and CAT II .
