The connecting rod is a moving part of the engine responsible for the movement of the pistons. The connecting rod connects the moving elements of the engine, i.e. the crankshaft and the pistons. The connecting rod consists of three parts: the head (the place of connection with the piston), the foot (mounting on the crankshaft), and the shaft.
