Garden care or preparing a plot for sale, clearing, cleaning work in municipal companies, these are all great treatments, the effects of which everyone likes very much. The question is what to do with cut branches - often larger ones, when we have more than enough of them? Is there a chance to get rid of them without having a tractor, a large trailer or the possibility of disposal? Of course, yes! Wood chippers equipped with a combustion engine come to the rescue. They have a trailer hitch, so we can transport them on the roads (provided that they have a chipper approval) without any difficulty in any car with a tow bar. This type of machine will allow us to get rid of branches lying around on the plot, it will be an indispensable companion in gardening or municipal companies. Wood shredding machines are commonly used in forestry or agriculture. Their use allows for quick, precise and safe processing of even a significant number of trunks and branches.
In disc chippers , the element that shreds wood is a metal disc/disc with mounted blades (knives). This solution was patented in 1922 by German inventor Heinrich Wigger. The rotating disc/disc is set perpendicularly to the wood fed into the machine (manually or by means of a conveyor belt). The rotating disc with knives shreds them into chips (shavings), which are then thrown out of the device through the discharge chute. By choosing a disc chipper , we obtain fine material of uniform shape and size, which can then be used for mulching, for fuel, for the production of chipboard.
The machine is integrated with a trailer on road wheels and with a ball hitch. It is equipped with a 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled combustion engine with a power of 40 HP. The chipper is started electrically, and thanks to the equipment with a hydraulic feeder, work is definitely easier. It also has a safety STOP function both forward and backward.
The DWC-40 disc chipper has a cutting disc with a diameter of 60 cm, it has 2 cutting knives (1 counter blade) and two branch intake rollers, one of which has a smooth surface to avoid "letting" smaller branches past the supply chimney. The DWC petrol disc chipper is designed for shredding branches, tree trunks with a diameter of up to 20 cm, while the effect of the chipper's work is fine chips of about 0.5 - 1 cm. The final size of the chips and the work efficiency also depend on the type of shredded material and its moisture.
