The water pump, the radiator coolant, is one of the most important elements of the engine cooling system and this method of cooling is commonly called water cooling . The engine block and the engine head are elements that heat up to very high temperatures during operation and it is these that we want to cool with the coolant during operation. Special water channels are bored in the engine and the head for the circulation of water, which, in order to be pumped back into the engine water channels. The circulation of the coolant is possible thanks to the water pump , which is most often placed between the radiator and the engine and is driven by a V-belt from the alternator. To the pump flywheel, we screw in the following order the belt pulley, and then the radiator fan, which rotates together with the belt pulley, providing the air movement needed to cool the radiator while the engine is running.
