Engine piston from LS Tractors, LS R41 (HST), R43 (HST), R50 (HST), R60, and other series. The engine piston is a moving component responsible for converting gas and combustion energy into the crankshaft, and thus into engine power. The piston is connected to the crankshaft by a connecting rod with pin connections. At the top of the piston are annular channels for mounting the piston rings, and in the center is a hub for connecting to the connecting rod. At the top is the so-called crown, which can vary in shape depending on the engine type. Due to its harsh operating conditions, engine pistons are most often made of aluminum and silicon alloys.
