Power steering pump for LS Tractor G40 series tractors and others.
The hydraulic gear pump is a device responsible for the operation of the rear linkage, additional hydraulically operated equipment and in modern tractors the hydraulic pump is responsible for power steering.
Using the hydraulic pump, we can control additional functions of an agricultural trailer, flail mower, tiller or TUR front loader.
A hydraulic pump operates using the tractor's hydraulic system and is powered by the tractor's drive system (e.g., the crankshaft). Hydraulic oil pumped to the pump is directed to the high-pressure control valve, where excess flow returns to the gearbox and then to the main distributor. Some hydraulic pumps may have additional sections that supply the steering system with pressurized oil.

It's best to read the markings on the side of the old V-belt. If they are illegible, measure the belt width and its outer length (La). On Shibaura and Hinomoto tractors, it's important to regularly check the belt tension – too loose a belt will cause slippage and faster wear, while too tight a belt can cause alternator or water pump bearing failure.
