The EGR valve is a device responsible for recirculating exhaust gases in the tractor's exhaust system. The main task of the EGR solenoid valve is to limit the release of harmful substances in exhaust gases while the engine is running. The EGR valve directs part of the exhaust gases into the engine intake system, which reduces the oxygen content that enters the combustion chamber. Lowering the combustion temperature, slowing down the combustion process, and reduced amount of oxygen are the effects of the EGR valve, which in this way reduces the amount of harmful substances.

The first signs of a damaged or malfunctioning EGR valve are uneven engine operation, increased fuel consumption, stalling or problems with starting the engine. The EGR valve is designed to return part of the exhaust gases to the system, causing clogging with solid particles and, consequently, blocking the valve in one of the operating positions.
