The cutting element of every flail mower is the cutting assembly, consisting of a blade shaft and axle to which the cutting blades, commonly known as flails or hammers, are attached. There are many types of flail mower blades, but we can distinguish two main groups of flail mower blades:
The first group comprises heavy-duty flail mowers designed for mowing wasteland, crop residue, or roadside maintenance, and is intended for use with flail mowers, which are classified as large, heavy-duty mowers. The second group comprises lighter, slightly different blades designed for mowing grass or green vegetation, and is intended for use with lighter-duty mowers.
