A fuel injector is a mechanism whose task is to deliver fuel very precisely, at the right pressure, to the cylinder head near the intake valves (spark plugs) or to the intake manifold. An injector is, in other words, a very precise and fast-acting valve that opens for a set time and produces the appropriate fluid pressure. Fuel mixed with air in the intake system or cylinder and delivered by fuel injection burns properly, which directly affects optimal or improved engine performance. Properly working fuel injectors have a direct effect on engine operation, fuel consumption and reduced exhaust emissions.
