Flail mower with combustion engine – what is an ATV mower?

A lawn mower with its own internal combustion engine , attached to various vehicles, is an ATV mower . Although there is no strict definition, simply put, it is a grass-cutting device that, thanks to its self-propulsion, does not require an external power source, such as a tractor's PTO shaft. Although it has an engine, it does not have a ground drive – it must be towed by another vehicle. The internal combustion engine is responsible only for powering the shaft or cutting blades.

Types of ATV mowers:

• ATV flail mower
• ATV grooming mower

Both types differ in the design of the cutting unit. Flail mowers use special flails (hammer blades) mounted on a shaft to handle dense vegetation and undergrowth. Grooming mowers, on the other hand, use rotating blades that operate similarly to a helicopter propeller, ensuring precise lawn cutting.

The engine in this model is a 4-stroke, single-cylinder Lifan, OVH 16 HP, gasoline engine with electric start. The mower is self-propelled, allowing it to be used with a quad bike or off-road vehicle, for example. A balanced shaft with flail blades ensures smooth operation, while the high shredding speed ensures good results. The mower is equipped with an ISO-50 vehicle hitch.

The mower can be adjusted:

• cutting height,
• height and angle of the drawbar,
• side shift.

The ATV CK model stands out because it has an opening flap, which allows you to lighten the machine when mowing tall grass, and the design also allows you to reposition the wheels - they can be placed on the sides of the machine or behind the mower, to make the machine as narrow as possible.
